Opening Ceremony for CUP cards acceptance business in America was held by CUP and Discover in New York, USA, which signaled CUP cards’ entry into the American Continent.

CUP announced with EUFISERV that ATM services were opened to Chinese visitors in Europe, especially in Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and Luxemburg, which marked CUP cards’ entry into Europe.

CUP cards Anti-fraud Service Center was founded.

May 8, 2006

Hong Kong Branch of CUP, the first branch outside mainland China, was founded.

September 13, 2006

CUP cards were accepted on ATMs of NAB(National Australia Bank), which signaled CUP cards’ entry into Australia.

March 31, 2007

Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of CPC and Vice President of P.R.C., inspected CUP and promised great support for developing independent bankcard brand of China.

May 14, 2007

Premier Wen Jiabao inspected CUP Shanghai Information Center and fully affirmed the achievements of bankcard industry and CUP’s development.

The acceptance of CUP cards in Egypt signaled the landing of CUP cards in Africa. December 18, 2007Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company issued standard CUP yen credit card in Japan, which marked that CUP’s operation in Japan reached a new level.
