CONSUMPTION BY WIPING CARD ON POS
Application Range
Merchants with CUP labels all accept CUP cards. Some merchants may not have put up the CUP label, so cardholders can inquire the cashier whether CUP cards are accepted.
Merchant Characteristics
Several thousand merchants in Australia accept CUP cards, such as Louis Vuitton, DFS, Hour Glass, Shark Fin and China Restaruant, which are mainly located in Sydne, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide.
Accepted Cards and Relevant Procedure
All CUP cards including dual currency cards.
Reminder: When using dual currency cards, cardholders are recommended to ask the cashier to choose CUP network, so as to assure the enjoyment of various favorable treatments and services provided by CUP network. As certain amounts of limits exist for credit card consumption, CUP debit cards are more suitable for large consumption on luxuries, as they are subjected only to the limit of balance account of the cards. When using CUP cards on the CUP network, please operate according to the domestic procedures (eg. If the credit card has a PIN, please enter your PIN)
Relevant Charges
No commission charge for overseas card-using.
When consuming through CUP network, the currency exchange charge of 1%-2% will be exempted. CUP will change the amount in local currency into RMB amount to deduct from the holder’s RMB account.

ATM CASH WITHDRAWAL
Application Range
Several ten thousand ATMs in Australia accpet the withdrawal of cash in local currency (Australian dollars) by CUP cards. These include all ATMs of NAB and Cashcard (ATMs in 7-Eleven & HSBC included). Cashcard will open the balance inquiry function soon as well.
CUP cards cannot perform over-counter transfer and cash withdrawal abroad.

Reminder: Cardholders are recommended to use CUP debit cards abroad since overdraft interest will be charged when drawing cash with credit cards.

Step 1:
“Please enter your PIN”
|
When the cardholder insert the CUP card into the ATM, the system will require the cardholder to put in the PIN. After the input of PIN, press “Enter”.

“Please select your transaction”
|
Step 2(a):
“Withdrawal”
|
When the cardholder wants to perform cash withdrawal, press the button beside the “Withdrawal” on the ATM.

Step 2 (b):
“Balance”
|
When the cardholder wants to balance inquiry, press the button beside the “Balance” on the ATM. Note: The balance will be shown in Australian dollars.

“Please select from your account”

When the cardholder is using a debit card, press the button beside “Savings” or “Sav” on the ATM.

When the cardholder is using a credit card, press the button beside “Credit” or “CR” on the ATM.

Step 4:
“Do you require a receipt?”
|
The system will ask if a receipt is needed. If so, press the button beside “YES”; if not, press the button beside “NO”. Chinese cardholders are recommended to print and keep the receipt for future reference.

Step 5:
“Please select amount”
|
Put in the amount needed in Australian dollars. (As the ATM can only provide Australian dollars in 20s and 50s, the amount must be the multiple of 20 or 50). Also, the ATM will provide several numbers of amount for the cardholder to choose from. The cardholder just need to press the button beside the desired amount. (Daily cash withdrawal from a card should not surpass the Australian dollar equivalent of 5 thousand RMB).

Step 6:
“Please enter your bill mix”

The screen will remind you whether to get cash in 50s or 20s or the mix of both. After the selection of the cardholder, the ATM will remind that “Transaction in progress”. Then the cardholder can take the card and cash, get the receipt and keep it.

Charge and Limit on Withdrawal
Daily cash withdrawal from a debit card should not surpass the Australian dollar equivalent of 10 thousand RMB.Daily cash withdrawal from a credit card should not surpass the Australian dollar equivalent of 5 thousand RMB.
Issuing banks charge a certain amount of commissions for overseas cash withdrawal. Limits on daily withdrawal times and amount as well as commission charges can be obtained from card issuing banks.
