| Japanese Media Speaks Highly of Business Opportunities CUP Brought to Japan |

On Sep. 7th, Fuji Commerce, a nationally influential newspaper in Japan, reported that Chinese tourists and CUP cards are now creating new business opportunities for Japan.
It is reported that Chinese tourists buy large quantities of luxury goods in Japan and have thus become important customers for the circulation and sight-seeing industries in Japan, which are currently bogged in difficulties due to low consumption. And Chinese tourists cannot do without CUP cards in making overseas purchases.
It is also reported that, in order to attract more Chinese tourists, the number of Japanese department stores, electric appliance shopping malls and other merchants which accept CUP cards is on the rise. In 2005, when CUP card services were initiated in Japan, there were only 200 accepting merchants. By July, 2008, the number of merchants accepting CUP cards had increased by 80 times. More merchants are expected to accept CUP cards in the future.
In the first half of 2008, card-swiping amounts of CUP cards in Japan registered an increase of 328%. “The amazing increase rate will make this business (CUP card swiping) a pillar of benefits in the future.” a department store employee was cited by Fuji Commerce as saying.
